Frequently Asked Questions
How do I buy Something?
Buyers upload a link of the item(s) they want on the Dashboard page. After uploading a link, they can search for a traveler or wait to get contacted by one. Once they have found a traveler, buyers send an offer for a suitable carrying fee and use our messaging feature to talk details, negotiate a carrying fee or determine a public meeting location. Once both parties have agreed on a deal, buyers pay for the product plus carrying fee and wait to receive their item(s) once the traveler has reached the destination!
Is Airposted safe?
Yes, buyers and travelers should meet at public locations and there is no cash handling involved.
Is there cash involved?
There is no cash involved as the buyer pays for the item through our secure platform. We hold the buyers payment until they receive the item and mark it as delivered. Once marked as delivered by the buyer, we release the payment directly into the travelers account. The traveler simply hands the product over to the buyer with no strings attached.
How does the buyer pay?
We accept payments through PayPal and all major international debit and credit cards. If you don’t have an international debit/credit card, pay using PayPal (where service is offered).
When does the buyer pay?
Buyers pay for their item(s) once an offer has been accepted between them and the traveler. Travelers only purchase the item(s) once the buyer has paid.
When does the buyer pay?
Buyers pay the following fees: 5% Airposted service fee, 3.9% + $0.30 PayPal transaction fee and a carrying fee for the traveler that is determined by each unique buyer and traveler. Travelers do not pay any fees.
What is a carrying fee?
A carrying fee is the amount of money a buyer pays a traveler for buying and delivering product(s) to them.
How is a carrying fee determined?
Airposted has no involvement in determining a carrying fee - it is completely negotiated between the buyer and traveler. If either the buyer or traveler sends an offer the other party doesn’t like, they are able to send a counter offer until they have come to an agreed price. We recommend travelers determine the carrying fee they will charge based on factors such as product size, weight, price and ease in which the traveler is able to obtain the product. Depending on the product, there may be VAT, customs and local shipping fees involved with transporting the product as well. We recommend buyers keep these same factors in mind when negotiating the carrying fee.
What is the exchange rate?
Our exchange rate is simple and there are no hidden costs. We use the current exchange rate found in PayPal.
Can I return items?
We want to ensure you receive the best product and don’t have any complaints. If the product was damaged, opened or did not meet your expectations, please contact Airposted support and we will try to do our best to fix the issue.*
*We are currently working to get a $300 insurance per traveler per trip in case of lost or damaged items.
Is my information secure?
We are registered in the United States and operate in compliance with the regulations of United States Federal Government. We will never share or post anything about our users without permission. We will also never use user information for promotional activities without permission.

How do I deliver an item and make money while traveling?
Travelers post their trip details: travel date and location on the Dashboard page. After uploading trip details, they can search for a buyer or wait to get contacted by one. Once they have found a buyer, travelers send an offer for a suitable carrying fee for themselves and use our messaging feature to talk details, negotiate a carrying fee or determine a public meeting location. Once both parties have agreed on a deal, buyers pay for the item, travelers buy and deliver the item and get paid after making a successful delivery!
Where should buyers and travelers meet?
Airposted leaves determining a meeting location up to the buyer and traveler but strongly recommend choosing a busy public place such as a coffee shop or airport.
How does the traveler get paid?
The traveler gets paid in their associated PayPal account once they have successfully delivered the product. The traveler has to mark the item(s) as delivered and the buyer has to mark the item as received through the Payments page. Travelers, don’t hesitate to remind your buyer to mark their item(s) as received. Once both parties have done so, we will release the money into the travelers account within 3 business days.
When does the traveler get paid?
Airposted hold the buyers money in escrow until the traveler has successfully delivered the product. Travelers get paid once the buyer has marked an item as received. If a buyer does not mark an item as received but the traveler has marked it as delivered, we will contact the buyer to determine whether they have received the product or not. We allow buyers to get back to us within 72 hours. If the buyer does not get back to us within 72 hours, we will assume the traveler has successfully delivered the product. At this point, buyers are no longer able to make any future claims regarding the transaction.
What does a traveler do after accepting to deliver an item(s)?
After a traveler accepts a request and buyer pays for the item(s), the first thing the traveler should do is purchase the item(s) they are taking to the buyer. The traveler has to use their own money to purchase the item but don’t have to worry about not getting paid. The buyer has already paid but we simply hold their money for protection. As soon as the traveler has delivered the product, we release that payment to the traveler within 3-5 business days.
Can buyers cancel a request after paying for the product?
Unfortunately, once the buyer has already paid for the product, the traveler has likely purchased the item and therefore the buyer cannot cancel that request. Buyer can cancel and delete any requests that haven't been already paid for.
What is the estimated delivery time?
Delivery depends entirely on the travelers trip itinerary. Buyers can receive item(s) in as little as 48 hours. The sooner the traveler is set to travel, the sooner the buyer receives the product.
What happens if someone misuses Airposted?
Laws in different countries and states may vary and Airposted will not be held liable if any illegal occurrence occurs between the traveler and buyer. Airposted is a platform connecting two parties and the actions of buyer and travelers are their own. If misconduct is proven against an Airposted verified customer, we will take all necessary steps in means of state, federal and the country laws to reimburse the other party.
